About the seminar, We are extremely pleased to invite you to a seminar on lure coursing and the preparation of dogs for sports activities, organized by the Corsa Club of Serbia. At the seminar, we will have the opportunity to hear from three very professional lecturers about lure coursing, the general condition of dogs, preparation of dogs for physical effort, with a presentation reference to sighthounds.
The goal of the seminar is to raise the owner's awareness of about the benefits of physical activity for dogs, to explain what is general and what is the sports condition of dogs, and how to train a dog safely and avoid injuries.
Although the competition in lure coursing is for sighthounds, the training is open to all dogs willing to run.
Registrations for the seminar are on site. The registration fee is 2,500.00 RSD and covers two people and one dog. With one participation, one run is included in the registration fee.
Živko Jelić, DVM His areas of interest are surgery and oncology of dogs and cats. He is a member of VKS and SASAP, and a regular participant in seminars and scientific gatherings in the country and abroad.
Živko will talk about the psychophysical preparation of racing dogs, their physiology and how important movement is for their general health, regardless of whether they are our pets and/or sports dogs.
Zoran Lončar, ESAVS specialist in neurology-neurosurgery, SCIVAC specialist in orthopaedics, and AO international lecturer.
Zoran will present Basic principles of training for sports dogs, how to prepare a dog for great physical effort, what it is necessary to know about the pace and training plan, as well as how to relax the dog after physical effort and avoid its consequences.
Andrej Kerpan is an International Judge for the X. FCI Group, part of the V. FCI Group and FCI Lure Coursing Judge. Over 30 years in cynology, as an exhibitor, FCI judge and judge on lure coursing training and competitions. He is the author of many educational articles published in professional cynological journals.
Andrej Kerpan will tell us about what lure coursing is, what kind of sport it is and why dogs love it so much. We will hear about the spread of this sport in the world and the region. We will hear a lot of useful tips related to the preparation and organization of training and coursing competitions, with a special focus on dog safety.
